Beyond the Transcript: We See the Whole You.
Recent Results
We’re proud of our results from the most recent application cycle. These are just a few highlights from the 15 seniors we worked with this admissions cycle, including students we've had the privilege of counseling since their freshman year. We believe these outcomes are made possible, in part, by our intentionally limited caseloads, allowing us to devote the time, attention, and individualized support every student deserves.
93% of our students admitted to at least one of their top three college choices
1 acceptance to Stanford
Acceptances to half of the Ivy League, Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, and UPenn
2 acceptances to MIT
A student with a C in AP Calculus AB admitted to UC Berkeley
A student with a 3.47 unweighted GPA admitted to UC Davis
A student with a 3.67 unweighted GPA admitted to Boston University (11% acceptance rate)
A student with a 2.35 GPA admitted to all of his top choice colleges
A nursing student admitted to every college she applied to, including NYU, and awarded a $40,000 merit scholarship to the University of Minnesota (#8 for nursing)
A transfer student admitted to NYU and multiple Top 50 universities
A student with an unweighted GPA below 3.0 admitted to UC Santa Cruz
A gap-year student admitted to the Fashion Institute of Technology (#3 for fashion)
Multiple students admitted to colleges like UCLA, UVA, Carnegie Mellon, Duke, and the University of Washington despite applying with GPAs below those schools' 25th percentile for admit GPA
Our Approach
We'll be honest with you, college admissions are hard. Gone are the days where a student could play a sport, join a few clubs, and walk into a Top 50 college. And, short of curing cancer, it's unlikely an applicant can do something that colleges haven't seen before at least a dozen times over.
So, instead of chasing generic checkboxes, we work closely with our students in a partnership that uncovers their motivations and interests, letting those guide us toward extracurriculars that reflect their full and authentic selves. We don't believe our job is to tell students who they should be or what they should be passionate about. All we ask is that students challenge themselves, explore the opportunities available to them, and stay true to who they are. We've had students write for the Los Angeles Times, pursue particle physics research at UC Irvine, start their own businesses refurbishing cars, and more. We believe anything less would be a disservice to our students and their potential.
Our Promise
We take a highly personalized approach to college counseling, and to that end, we make three promises to every student and family we work with.
1. You’ll always be able to reach us
All of our families have our phone numbers so they can text us outside of sessions or call us for anything urgent. We typically respond to emails within 24 hours, but more often than not, you'll hear back from us the same day.
2. We’ll always works around your schedule
High school students are busy, and we believe in working around their schedules so they can always show up ready to do their best work. Sometimes that means 6:00am sessions before a busy theater tech week or late night meetings while a student is traveling for sports competitions but we believe college counseling should accommodate the student, not the other way around.
3. We'll never waste your student's time
Your student's time is valuable, and we treat it that way. Every session begins with a clear objective, and every student leaves knowing exactly what they should be focused on before we meet again. We’ll never ask students to spend an hour with us if it doesn’t move them forward or to discuss something that could have been handled with a quick phone call.
Our Team
We’re a small, seasoned two-person team with over twenty years of experience in college admissions, including roles as admissions officers at five universities across both coasts. We’ve reviewed more than 14,000 applications from students in 40 states, spanning every kind of background and major. One of our team members previously served as an Assistant Director of Admissions at USC and now leads first year admissions at a private university in California. This firsthand perspective keeps us closely tuned in to how admissions is evolving and how students nationwide are approaching their applications. With degrees from top colleges like Berkeley and UCLA, we know this process inside and out, both as applicants and as decision makers building incoming classes.
